WordPress was created and launched in 2003 by developers Matt Mullenweg (just 19 at the time!) and Mike Little. It was a response to another blogging platform (b2/cafelog)1 closing and it was a chance comment on a message board by Matt, which Mike responded to, that became the start of what is now the biggest blogging platform of the internet.
